HALLOWEEN PARADE UPDATE: Due to rain, we are scaling back our parade. Students will walk to the aud and across the stage. Parents may join us in the aud; please arrive no earlier than 1:40pm as most staff will be assisting students prior to the parade. You will need to report to classrooms if you wish to sign students out after the parade.

Talking about the school day can be a great moment of connection between kids and caregivers. Here are some tips from the Elementary Principals' Association!

It's Read Aloud to a Child Week!

Open House reminder for Arcade Elementary families! Open House will be Thursday, October 2nd from 5:30-7:00pm. Parking will be available at our building as well as Hope Lutheran, with a shuttle running between lots from 5:15-7:15pm. Please feel free to stop by for a casual stroll through the building, letting your child show you around! Teachers will be available to answer questions, but there are NO formal presentations. Open House is 100% optional, as we know you are busy with sports events and practices, dance classes, youth groups, and life in general!
The District Mental Health Team is inviting staff and students to participate in Suicide Prevention Awareness Day. September is designated nationally as Suicide Prevention Month. At Pioneer our team has designated Friday, September 26 as the day to increase awareness of this mental health issue. If students would like to participate, they can wear the national colors of purple or teal on September 26. You will see the Mental Health team wearing these colors and a pin of a semicolon, which is the symbol for Suicide Prevention. Age-appropriate announcements will be made in the elementary buildings to inform students of this recognition and invite them to wear the colors as well. The text of the announcements for the elementary students is below:
(9/25) Good morning (Arcade/Delevan).
Tomorrow our school district will be wearing special colors to show we are a caring school and talk about feelings. I would like to invite everyone to wear purple or teal to show kindness, support, and hope!
These colors help us remember that it's okay to ask for help and that we all care about each other.
· Purple stands for remembering and caring.
· Teal stands for support and healing.
By wearing these colors, you’re helping spread a message of love, understanding, and friendship. You can also request a sticker from the greeter to wear with these colors tomorrow if you wish.
Let’s fill our school with color and compassion! Let’s all wear purple or teal this to show we care!
(9/26) Good morning, friends!
Today is a special day where we remember how important it is to be kind, to listen, and to help each other.
Sometimes, people feel really sad or alone. That’s why it’s so important to be a good friend — a smile, a kind word, or just saying, “Are you okay?” can help someone feel better.
If you ever feel sad or need someone to talk to, your teachers, the school counselors, and all the grown-ups here are always ready to help you. Today you will see people in the building wearing purple or teal or wearing stickers to remind you that you are not alone and they are kind, wanting to help you and will listen to you.
Let’s make today full of kindness, caring, and friendship. Remember: You are important. You are loved. You are never alone.
