NYS Youth Justice Institute is launching a Youth Justice Peer Advisory Council. Young adults (age 18-25) interested in advising state and local youth justice leaders on youth policies and practices, and system reform should apply. Highly preferred applicants include youth with experience in juvenile justice, youth of color, and LGBTQIA+ youth. Applications must be submitted by April 12, 2022. Is your high school student in need of a summer job? If they will be 15 by June 30, 2023, now is the time to talk to their guidance counselor to sign up for the half-year Lifeguard course taught at Pioneer High School during the school day. Upon completion, participants will be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Students can then use their certification to apply for Lifeguarding positions at school and town pools.
