Our message to parents and students at the start of 2025-26: Let's work together and make it the best year ever!

The middle school leadership team consists of Interim Principal Michael Tylock, and assistant principals Jenna Driver and Richard Schumacher. Mr. Schumacher oversees all matters for students with last names A-k, while Mrs. Driver oversees all students with last names L-Z.

Parents are urged to keep on top of all things involving their student with ParentPortal, Pioneer's student information system. With the ParentPortal, you can view:

  • Current class schedule

  • Assignment details (pending & completed)

  • Grades for individual assignments & current class averages

  • Attendance: absences & tardies

  • Progress Reports & Report Cards (Grades 5-12)

  • Cafeteria account balances

Another helpful tool for parents is Rooms, a communication app designed to streamline and enhance communication between families and our schools. Teachers can send announcements, broadcasts, and personalized messages to parents, guardians, and students. In turn, families can easily reach out to teachers and staff, all within one secure platform.

One of Pioneer Middle School's biggest initiatives this year is regular student attendance. Consistent attendance is a proven way to earn higher grades:

Students who miss 5 days or less of school are TWICE as likely to earn higher grades than those who miss 15 days or more. Also, students who were chronically absent in Middle School (missing more than 10 percent of the year) are seven times more likely to drop out of high school.

In 2025-26, Pioneer Middle School will prohibit student access to cell phones, smartphones, wireless headphones/earbuds, and smartwatches (including Apple Watches) throughout the entire school day. All items must be turned off or silenced and out of sight in a fully-zipped backpack and closed locker by 7:28 AM and will not be accessible for student use until 2:25 PM.

We are making everyone aware of changes to the Student Dress Code:

  • Shorts, skirts, and dresses must provide full coverage of the buttocks when standing, sitting, or moving.

  • Students in middle and high school may wear hats throughout the school day except in the auditorium or in classrooms or settings where staff

    request removal.

  • Teachers may request the removal of hats in their classroom at any

    time.

  • All headgear must be removed during testing unless required for

    religious or medical reasons.

Pioneer Middle School will again offer a full menu of after-school activities. Sign up for 1st quarter activities at https://aptg.co/0zZ8X8

Thank you for reading this far, and let's work together to make it a great school year!
