Joseph Cappadonia is the acting principal for the start of the 2023-24 school year at Pioneer High School.
Mr. Cappadonia has taken over over for former principal Katelyn Welker, who joined Orchard Park in an administrative role over the summer.
The school will host Return to Learn Orientation on Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Class of 2027 (grade 9) attended their special orientation on Aug. 15.
Two more special events are coming up at Pioneer High that are designed to engage parents. Both are in the HS Aud:
- On Wednesday, August 23, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Mr. Cappadonia will host a "Meet The Principal Night" for families and students to meet the acting principal, get an overview of yearly goals, and strengthen the school-community bond;
- On Friday, Sept. 22, from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., it's 'Coffee with Cappadonia', featuring conversations and a short presentation around the theme "Navigating the High School Experience". This is the first in a series of similar events with different topics throughout the year.
