In the months of March, April and May, a small group of 4th graders have been learning to play the Ukulele at Arcade Elementary.
The Ukulele Club met this spring on Tuesday afternoons under the leadership of Mr. Jeremy Wilton. Students learned ukulele technique, the names of the strings, parts of the ukulele and some foundational chords.
The club members were able to strum along with some popular favorites from the radio and also strum and play some fun folk songs as well. Some of the members are planning on playing their ukuleles for the UPK students.
“The ukuleles were purchased by the Music Department and have been so much fun to learn to play!” Mr. Wilton said.
