Reading intervention is a program for students to help them boost their reading skills in a small group setting.
During reading intervention, students engage in reading activities that are at their instructional reading level. We have three reading specialists at Pioneer at Arcade Elementary who work with children throughout the day to help them become confident readers.
For our kindergarten students, our reading specialist takes our ready readers and helps them build the skills that they need to be successful readers at the primary level.
The goal of our reading program is to build a strong foundation for students as they are learning to read...so that they are ready when it is time to read to learn.
Reading at home every night is a great way to practice the skills that our children are learning at school.
