RTI

This week, (Oct. 4-9) RtI (response to intervention) meetings begin.

RtI meetings are where our team meets with classroom teachers to discuss student academic success. We meet regarding each student, and sessions are held every 10 weeks.

At these meetings we also discuss individual students' iReady data; iReady is a program for reading and math that is based in standards. We also discuss data from AIMSWeb, which is a reading probe to gauge ability.  We also cover teacher-provided data, including the child's reading level.

RtI meetings help us work together to determine what interventions a child may need to help him/her address any academic needs. These may be provided within the classroom or small group instruction outside of the classroom.

If your child needs an intervention, the classroom teacher will call you to discuss their needs. Also, a letter will be sent home. If you have any questions regarding the RtI process, do not hesitate to contact the Arcade Elementary office.
