Dear Arcade Elementary Families,
Happy Spring Break! We've had so much fun during the month of March, with Read Across America Week, STEAM Week, STEAM Night, a kindergarten performance, maple tours and presentations for grades 1, 2, andn3, a school-wide dance party, and so much more!
Along with this letter, your child is bringing home the April Project Read calendar. Completed March calendars can be brought in until April 16, and our winners will be announced April 17. Our students are doing a great job, and we hope that you keep up your reading time over the break!
Our first graders narrowly edged out the rest of the school in terms of our first attendance challenge! Thank you for all of your efforts to get students to school-on time-so they are not missing instruction. We recognize that illness is a valid reason for absences, and at the same time, we cannot teach students who are not here. If you have a question about whether your child should come to school, please do not hesitate to reach out to our nurse for guidance.
I hope that you enjoy your break; remember there is no school from Friday, April 3, until we return on Monday, April 13. During that time, I wish you a safe and exciting (or relaxing) time off, and I hope you and your kids get an opportunity to be outdoors and enjoy some better weather. We'll miss those smiling faces in the meantime!
As always, thank you for your support, and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Kerry Slocum, Principal
