Over the past five weeks, students at Arcade Elementary participated in Book Bingo. This was a school-wide reading event in which students marked off bingo squares on their weekly board and turned them in at the end of the week.

A different bingo pattern was determined each week and names were drawn for prizes. The bingo boards had ideas for reading written in the squares such as, “read with a flashlight,” “read in your pajamas,” “read before breakfast,” or “read to a pet.”

Students in all grade levels enjoyed finding new ways to read and to make reading a priority. At the conclusion, students were encouraged to put in a raffle ticket to win a basket of books, a stuffed animal and blanket.

Pictured are the winners for each grade level. Congratulations to these winners and to everyone who took part in our Book Bingo Challenge. We hope that students at Arcade Elementary continue to discover new books and find enjoyment in reading because, as Dr. Seuss said “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
