Pioneer School District is extending Memorial Day Weekend for students and staff.
Because the district used only one snow day in 2021-22, Thursday, May 26, will now be a non-instructional day.
Superintendent Ben Halsey announced the calendar change at the regular Board of Education meeting on May 3.
"The district will implement a snow day 'give back' on May 26. However, please note that athletic practices and games, as well as other facility use that was previously scheduled, will be allowed to continue. The campuses are not closed like a traditional snow day; it is simply a day of no instruction," he said.
"This day is attached to the already planned long Memorial Day Weekend," he added.
