A fund-raiser and dinner on Saturday, March 5, will help establish a scholarship in memory of Alex Schenk and Nate Schwartz of the Pioneer Class of 2021.
Alex and Nate died in a car accident in the town of Yorkshire on August 8, 2021.
The benefit will happen at The Annex Performance and Event Center on Route 16 in Chaffee.
A few tickets remain for the event, for which 320 tickets were made available. Orders are being taken at the link below by Feb. 26; you can also make a donation and buy raffle tickets at the same website.
Organizers say the benefit will have a Mardi Gras theme. The night will feature dinner, cash bar, a DJ, live music, raffles, and a sharing of memories through speeches, videos, and photos.
If you cannot attend, commemorative stickers are being sold at Bearded Bison Barber Shop in Arcade for $5.00. A beverage can drive is also being held at The Hearth in Chaffee from March 3-6.
