For the first time in a couple years, Pioneer Central School was represented in-person at the Scholastic Challenge.
The annual regional competition was sponsored by Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES and held Nov. 13 at the Olean Career Tech Center.
Pioneer had three all-new teams competing in the quiz bowl for the first time. Advisor Sarah Wood said Senior Team 1 finished fourth out of 21 teams.
One member of the Pioneer team, Makenna Shimburski, was unable to attend.
