Arcade anniversary

Pioneer School District is taking part in the dual 150th anniversary celebrations for the Village of Arcade and the Arcade Fire Department.

The free event happens on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sponsors include Arcade Lions Club, Arcade Fire Department, Village of Arcade, Arcade Historical Society, Arcade Area Chamber of Commerce, and Arcade Herald.

Events include a Car Cruise and Parade (starting at Pioneer High School and ending at Arcade Elementary), historical exhibits, cemetery walks, food trucks, live entertainment, scavenger hunt, wine and beer tastings, display of fire trucks and village equipment, downtown business district discounts and samples, prizes and games (including a chance to sound a fire truck siren), Jaws of Life demonstration, blood pressure check, and other hands-on activities.

Car Cruise registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at the high school, and the parade starts down Main Street at 10:00 a.m. The cruise and show are open to cars and trucks of all ages. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 585-492-2114 for details.
