Pioneer High School continues to prepare for an in-person Class of 2021 commencement ceremony.

As a reminder it will be held outside on Saturday, June 26, at 1:00 p.m., at Pioneer Memorial Stadium, rain or shine.

Each graduate will be allowed to invite four guests.  Principal Mark Schultz said, "Given the response to our RSVP, we anticipate less than 500 guests in attendance; therefore, there will be no need for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test."

Seniors are to meet in the High School Gymnasium at noon on June 26. Stadium gates will open at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Families will be seated in groups of two, spaced six feet apart on the turf from the goal line to the 40-yard line. Graduates will be seated from the opposing 40-yard line in rows six feet apart back to the 20-yard line.

The reading of future plans and awards will be read when the graduate stands on the panther paw facing parents. After that, diplomas will be handed to each graduate. Parents will be allowed to come forward and take pictures when their graduate is walking.

Mr. Schultz said, "We will continue to monitor New York State guidelines, and should more restrictions ease, information will be shared."

Commencement 2021 will also be livestreamed on the PioneerTV YouTube channel:
