As one capital improvement project closes, another opens at the Pioneer School District.

Last June, voters approved a $21.2 million capital improvement project, even as work from the 2018 plan was being completed.

For the new project, bids have been awarded and the first meetings have been held among district officials, contractors and architects.  Work in select areas will begin as soon as May 17, while a majority of the other work will begin the Monday after graduation.

This project will be a “two-season” project meaning this summer and next summer will both have major aspects of the project being completed.  Some delays can be expected, and the well-publicized shortage of materials is impacting construction all over the country.

However, when completed the upgrades to the high school, middle school, and Delevan Elementary will have positive long-term impacts. Arcade Elementary will see a few mechanical improvements as well but has had extensive work done in the past two projects.

Just as in the past, we ask that community members be patient as we improve our facilities.
