Students in grades 3-8 across New York State and at Pioneer will be taking the Common Core New York State English Language Arts (ELA), Math and Science assessments this spring. The tests will be untimed and will be one day only.
The ELA assessment for grades 3-4 is Tuesday, April 20, and Mathematics is Tuesday, May 4.
The ELA assessment for grades 5-8 is Monday, April 26, and Mathematics is Monday, May 10. Grade 8 Science is Monday, June 7.
You can help your child do his/her best on the test in the following ways:
- Provide a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast.
- Have your child to school on time; testing begins soon after arrival
- Keep your child home only if he/she is truly sick; any missed test session must be made up
