The Pioneer Social Work Department has named Katie Snyder as its first 'Caught in the Act' recipient of the 2026-27 school year.

Ms. Snyder, a teacher in Pioneer's Exceptional Education Department, is embracing a new role as Transition Coordinator and department chair. Her office is in Pioneer High School.

The citation read, "Katie works tirelessly to ensure all students are given the proper support needed to be successful. She collaborates closely with students, families, and community partners to build customized pathways for the future. Her unwavering dedication ensures that every student graduates not just with a diploma, but with a concrete plan, self-advocacy skills, and the confidence required to thrive in the next chapter of their lives."

Caught in the Act started a year ago as a way for the Social Work Department to recognize Pioneer staff who are going above and beyond in the jobs. Recipients receive a certificate and $10 gift card to Coffee Crate in Delevan.
