The Pioneer Board of Education has accepted the resignation of high school principal Joseph Cappadonia, after he resigned to accept a similar position at Lackawanna High.
Mr. Cappadonia was principal for three years. His resignation leaves two administrative openings at the high school, after assistant principal Caroline Krug resigned to work at a district closer to home earlier this summer.
While a new high school principal is sought, veteran administrator Michael Tylock will serve as interim principal starting August 3. Mr. Tylock has been an interim Pioneer Middle School principal and assistant principal.
Kalli Harrington continues as assistant high school principal, as she has since January 2024.
Mr. Cappadonia started at Pioneer as an assistant high school principal in December 2022. He was an interim principal for 2023-24, and appointed permanently to the post in April 2024.
