First weeks of school mapped out

Pioneer School District will begin 2020-21 with three days of staff orientation, followed by four days dedicated to getting students prepared for school's new look.

The "Return to Learn" orientation days (Sept. 8-11) will look different depending on a student's grade level and whether or not a student is being instructed fully remote or under a hybrid of in-school/remote learning.

Pioneer Middle School and Pioneer High School are planning a 'soft opening' with a schedule  meant to simulate an actual day of instruction. When students will attend depends on whether they are in Group A (Tuesday, 9/8 & Wednesday, 9/9) or Group B (Thursday, 9/10, and Friday, 9/11).

Meanwhile, the elementary grades have sent the following message home regarding Student-Parent Orientation:

Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you about details regarding orientation. If you have more than one child attending school, you will pick one classroom to attend orientation. The overall goal is to become familiar with the online platform (Microsoft Teams) that we will be using UPK- 4th Grade for remote instruction.
