The Pioneer High School Music Department participated in the 2026 Shea's Wonder Awards, which recognize and celebrate local high school theater programs and their students.
Pioneer was nominated for eight awards this year and won the Magic of Theatre Award. This award honors a high school musical production's ability to create a truly transcendent, awe-inspiring, and memorable experience for the audience, often recognizing the successful use of technical stagecraft and theatrical illusion to suspend disbelief.

In addition, junior Noah Domes won the All Star Cast Award, which recognizes one student from each production who always goes the extra mile and leads with positivity and kindness.
Musical director Victoria Tomasulo said, "We are so incredibly proud of all our students who worked on 'Guys and Dolls' this year and can't wait to see what they do with 'Shrek the Musical' next year!"
