The Pioneer Board of Education will vote on adopting a 2026-27 budget proposal that totals $71,280,571.
The proposed budget carries a tax levy increase of 3.03 percent, which is below the state tax levy cap.
The board will meet in regular session on Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30PM, inside Arcade Elementary School.
The budget represents a spending increase of 2.39 percent over the 2025-26 budget of $69,714,066
This spring school districts have been having to plan next year's budget without the adoption of a New York State budget, which is three weeks overdue. Still, schools have a pretty good idea of how much aid they are getting from Albany and how much to account for expense increases, officials said.
Voters will decide on whether to adopt the budget during polling on Tuesday, May 19, from 6:30AM to 9:00 PM. Prior to that, voters can attend a budget hearing on Tuesday, May 5, at 5:30PM, during the Board of Education meeting at the high school.
