The Pioneer School District Social Work Department is proud to announce Allison Schwab, 5th grade teacher at Pioneer Middle School as the recipient of Caught in the Act recognition for the month of March.
Ally was nominated by several staff members for "going above and beyond." Mrs. Schwab has donated her time, often her own money, and all of her resources to provide our school with PBIS for the past 4 years. She puts together the middle school's quarterly student Reward Afternoons and the end of the year PBIS day as a summer send off. More importantly, because of her heart being rooted in PBIS, she keeps tabs on Pioneer's most needy kids.
One nomination reads, "You don't have to be in her class for her to know you and know you need the extra hug, the motivational morning speech to have a good day, the room to go to when you're having a bad day and need a pep talk, and the room to cool down in when you are ready to walk out the door. She will often keep our counselors and even other building principals in the loop when she knows someone needs immediate attention. Students confide in her. She is a safe person who can somehow make sneakers appear, snow clothes fit and always, always, always has a snack and a hug available to those in need."
The nomination continues: "This is all done quietly, without her need of recognition. She is an angel on Earth to most who have benefitted from her kindness and support. "
Another nomination for Mrs. Schwab: "For the past few school years, Ally has made it her personal mission to develop and implement our PBIS program, along side our HSA. Ally has taken an idea and turned it into a sustainable initiative to help motivate our Middle School students to achieve success. Ally has helped our PBIS program to raise funds, plan events, bridge the gap between home and school, provide our students with something to work towards by making good choices, and so much more! Without Ally, this program would not be what it is today!"
Ally will receive a $10 gift card to Coffee Crate, a certificate, a lanyard pin and a picture taken with representatives from the Social Work Department. Congratulations, Ally!
