The Pioneer Social Worker Department has named its Caught in the Act employee recognition recipients for February 2026.
The department had a record 22 nominations for the month, making for a difficult decision. Ultimately the social workers chose two winners: Arcade Elementary aide Ashley Terwilliger and Pioneer Middle School Special Education teacher Emily Lyons.
Ashley's nomination reads as follows:
"Ashley shows great kindness and compassion each and every day to our students. She is always willing to help even in the most undesirable situations such as bathroom assistance, physical sickness and behaviors to make sure all the students' needs are met, all while maintaining the students' dignity and comfort. Her hard work does not go unnoticed. Thank you Ashley for all you do."

Emily's nomination:
"Emily has gone above and beyond not only for the students but for most of the middle school. Between having an entire drawer system that has toiletries for the girls and boys of the school, she also has a plethora of snacks for the athletes.

ABOVE: Emily Lyons is celebrated for being Caught in the Act.
"The entire cheer program has recognized Miss Lyons as the snack queen and team 'mom'. She helps out the boys modified basketball players to have a place to stay after school as well as most of the modified wrestlers (mainly for snacks to be taken from her bin).
"Beside the athletes and her caseload, Miss Lyons is often seen at several sporting events, musicals, and shows during the summer at local fairs."
Ashley and Emily each received a $10 gift certificate to Coffee Crate in Delevan.
