The 2025-26 school year is under way for the Pioneer Board of Education.
The oath of office was administered to new member Cory Higgins and incumbent Amanda McKerrow, both of whom were elected to five-year terms in May.
After an absence of several years, the board has student representation again. Seniors Cora Hirsch and Bailei Hopkins will attend meetings as available and provide reports from a student perspective. They also took the oath of office.
Board member Shawn Hannon will continue as board president and Jim Fleischman will continue as vice president.
Two open administrative positions were filled at the meeting. Brent Titus was appointed Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, and Stephanie Sullivan is the new Delevan Elementary principal.
Jenna Tost has been appointed Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction after three years of working in the department as a CA BOCES Curriculum Specialist. She is a former Arcade Elementary teacher and a Pioneer grad.
