Junior Dustin Hobin has been selected for the prestigious New York State Scholastic Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference All-State string ensemble.
Dustin, a bassist, is the son of Jennifer and Phillip Hobin of Arcade.
According to Pioneer Music Department chair Jared Burch, Dustin scored a 100 on his Level 6 solo last spring. "We are proud of the hard work Dustin put in to achieve this distinction," Mr. Burch said.
Dustin is headed to the Rochester Convention Center for rehearsals starting Dec. 5. The NYSSMA Conference All-State concert is Sunday, Dec. 8 at Eastman Theater in Rochester.
