The Pioneer Board of Education election on Tuesday, May 21, will feature eight candidates seeking four seats on the board.

Polling for the board and the 2024-25 general fund budget will happen from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Pioneer High School. Visit the budget information center

The top two vote-getters will receive five-year terms. The candidate with the third-highest total will receive a two-year term, and the fourth-place finisher will serve a one-year term.

The candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order:

Eric Slocum (incumbent), Darla Schwab (incumbent), Pat Hoffman, Kate Uhteg, Denise Urbino (incumbent), Jim Fleischman, Amanda McKerrow, Lowell Cleveland.

Qualified voters of the Pioneer School District will also be deciding on a proposed $67,773,295 general fund budget for 2024-25 that increases spending by 3.14 percent and a tax levy increase of 2.89 percent. More information can be found in the budget guide being mailed to homes soon.
