Michael Rigerman, a wrestling and football standout from the Pioneer Class of 2019, has been signed by the NFL's Baltimore Ravens as a priority free agent following the 2024 league draft.

Rigerman, who hails from Arcade, played tight end at NCAA Division II Findlay College in Ohio. He ended up as the most prolific TE in Findlay history, with 1807 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Rigerman was the 2018 winner of the Connolly Cup, which is awarded annually to the standout WNY football player.

"It is all surreal," Rigerman told WNY Athletics. "A kid from Pioneer could do all of this. I am ready to change the thought on recruiting WNY kids."

Rigerman is the first Pioneer student to be signed by an NFL team. He traveled to Baltimore recently to show them that he can make a difference on the field. He was signed as a tight end/fullback hybrid and said he is excited to learn from one of the best, current Ravens tight end Mark Andrews.
