Pioneer Director of Facilities Nicholas Titus has joined select company as one of the newest Certified Directors of Facilities (CDF) in the state.

There are 750 Directors of Facilities in New York, and Mr. Titus is one of only 16 to currently hold accreditation. His accomplishment was recognized at the Oct. 24 regular meeting of the Pioneer Board of Education.

In attendance at the board meeting via Zoom was Keith Watkins, Director of Facilities in the City of New Rochelle School District and co-chair of the CDF program.

"This is an amazing accomplishment that I'm confident Pioneer CSD students, teachers, and community will benefit from for years to come," Mr. Watkins said. "Nick's decision to pursue and obtain the accreditation reflects his commitment, work ethic, and dedication, to creating a safe and clean learning environment. His desire to learn and just be better is evident in all that he does."

Achieving accreditation is a multi-step process, in which a Certification Committee evaluates candidates in such areas as:

  • Management of Personnel in Facility Operations
  • Technical Systems in School Facility Operations
  • Principles of School Facility Management
  • Codes, Standards, Administrative and Legal Rules
  • Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health
