Six Pioneer Panthers Flag Football players have been named to the All-Western New York team by the Buffalo News.

The Panthers were Section VI champs in their first year of competition, compiling a record of 9-1.

Coach Chris Edwards congratulated the following All-WNY players:

FIRST TEAM: 

Shay Edwards (safety): Shay, a sophomore, made 35 tackles, had 10 pass deflections, seven interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.  "Shay was a player who could come up and help in the run game but also finished second in WNY in interceptions with seven," Edwards said.

Jayden Leederman (defensive end) : Jayden, a freshman, had 62 tackles, two sacks, 18 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 1 defensive touchdown. Coach Edwards said, "Jayden was a terror for other teams this year. She could rush the passer but was also outstanding at shutting down the run.  Jayden led all defensive linemen in WNY this year with 62 tackles."

SECOND TEAM:

Abigail Mason (tight end):  A freshman, Abby had 33 receptions for 330 yards and three touchdowns. She also had six extra-point conversions.

Lilly Kless (defensive end): Lilly was a freshman with 30 tackles, six sacks, and 16 tackles for a loss.

THIRD TEAM: 

Brooke Eastman (quarterback): Brooke, a senior, completed 109 passes for 1240 yards. She passed or ran for 21 touchdowns, adding six interceptions on defense.

Gretchen Rumfola (running back): A junior, Gretchen rushed for 585 yards, scoring seven touchdowns and converting two extra points. She also passed for five conversions and had a touchdown pass.
