Pioneer's first-ever Flag Football season has been very successful to say the least, and the team is still writing its story.

The Panthers' 46-0 win over Williamsville South on May 18 helped the team finish the regular season 7-0. Next up: The playoffs.

Sophomore Shay Edwards led the team to its latest victory, with three interceptions and a 45-yard touchdown reception.

Coach Chris Edwards said, "I'm extremely proud of the young ladies on this team.  They have all put in so much work both physically and mentally to learn the game/skills of flag football.  The goal at the start of the season was to show up every day and work to get better, and that is exactly what this team has done.  We are looking forward to the playoffs as we continue to make this a historic season for Pioneer Flag Football."

Asked what has contributed to the success of his team, Coach Edwards said, "[It's] how much fun everyone is having; they love to work, get better, and be around each other. And how everyone has accepted their role within the team and has supported each other."

Coach Edwards' staff includes Lissa Landahl, Addie Edwards, and Tim Hirschbeck.

Just who the Panthers will face in the playoffs has yet to be determined.
