Pioneer Unified Basketball is in its ninth year of promoting inclusion among student-athletes of all abilities.
Coach Tom Izydorczak said the program continues to expand. "We have 49 schools playing basketball in Section VI, and our area has some of the highest levels of participation in New York State," he said.
Coach Izydorczak is getting help again this year from fellow teacher Julie Smith and Pioneer job coach Nicole Ochoa.

Pioneer Unified will host three home games (all 5:00 p.m. starts) this season, each with a different theme. On Tuesday, May 9, it is Military Night. On Wednesday, May 10, it is a Salute to Staff. And on Friday, May 12, it is Senior Night. There are seven seniors on the team.
