Transportation at Pioneer Schools: A Message from First Student
Dear Parents or Guardian:
Welcome to 2021-22 at Pioneer Schools! This page provides important bussing procedures we are asking all families to follow starting in September 2021. The reason for these procedures are to ensure the safety of all of our students. In addition, it allows for clear communication between the parents, school and bus garage.
If your child needs to ride to an alternate location (along an existing route) during the school week, he or she must have a written note. The note must be sent in to school and a pass will be issued through the school. This will reduce the confusion caused by multiple drop offs. The driver will also need to see a responsible person before your child is released off the bus (elementary only).
Students will not be released from the bus unless an adult is present. There will be no exceptions. In the unlikely event that an adult is not present, the student will be returned to the school and someone will have to pick them up there. All arrangements must be in writing to the school. Arrangements should NOT be made between the bus driver and the student and/or parent.
Due to NYS Department of Health COVID-19 regulations, students riding public school transportation must wear a mask at all times. Students not wearing mask will not be allowed to board the school bus. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding with this regulation.
Lastly, we ask your child to be outside 5 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. The driver will not be able to wait if students are not ready and the driver will not be able to turn the bus around. This will ensure that everyone will arrive to school at the scheduled time.
Thank you for your support with this. Please call 716-492-1981 if you have any questions. We look forward to another successful school year.
