What is a portfolio?
This is a collection of documents that provide evidence of your accomplishments as a student. It should include important "life" documents such as your social security card and birth certificate as well as, your transcript, personal references, work references, a resume, supervisor contacts from work experience settings, etc.

Why do I need one?
As you transition to the next step leading to gainful employment, you will need to have easy access to important information that your employer or admissions counselor will request. Organization is the key to successful employment down the road.

Ideas:

• Create your own web site and upload your personal documents with password protection (include this address on your resume)

• Create a binder format portfolio with plastic sleeves using the headings on the attached document
