Due to an escalation of positive COVID-19 cases in all four buildings, Pioneer School District will close at dismissal on Monday, Nov. 23.  Students should take all materials to work from home.

Superintendent Benjamin Halsey said the district will have a hard closure on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and Wednesday, Nov. 25. All staff trainings on Tuesday are cancelled, but any parent-teacher conferences scheduled for that day can happen remotely.

Offices are closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and staff are to work from home.  Thanksgiving Recess is Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 30, through Friday, Dec. 11, Pioneer will be on full remote instruction. Faculty and staff capable of working from home may do so. However, the buildings will be open for faculty and staff to work from their workstations on campus.

Food Service Plan: Monday, Nov. 30, through Friday, Dec. 11, curbside pickup for meals will be available between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at Arcade, Delevan, and the Middle School campus.

Mr. Halsey said an evaluation of the COVID status for the district and our region will occur Dec. 10, with a tentative plan to reopen for hybrid instruction on Dec. 14.

"I am very proud of the work we have done to stay open for as long as we have," Mr. Halsey said. "I am confident we will be back to hybrid instruction in the near future; however, the health and safety of our students, staff, faculty and administration is first and foremost.  The prevalence of positive cases warrants taking this step at this time. Please be prepare to successfully facilitate your work over the next few weeks."
