Pioneer's 2018 Capital Project has entered a new phase, one that will affect travel around the campus of Pioneer High School and Middle School.

Phase one of the paving work at the High School will begin Friday, May 29, which will bring a change in the traffic pattern.  The connecting road from the High School to the Middle School will be closed.  The south parking lot along with the south entrance/exit at the High School will also be closed.  The north driveway will be reconfigured with cones to be utilized as an entrance and exit.

Director of Buildings & Grounds Nicholas Titus said the connecting road is being moved north by nearly 20 feet to address a right-of-way issue with Arcade Electric.

The traffic pattern during construction will be:  Enter at the north entrance, drive down through the bus lane and then turn left into the student lot.  Then, exit at the north end of the student lot via the north driveway.   The contractor will be clearly marking the path that traffic will need to follow.

Motorists should note, you will NOT be able to enter the student lot from the north driveway. Food service will continue to utilize the bus lane for drive-through pickup, and the south parking lot will still be used to load the busses for food delivery.  Trucks will still be able to utilize the loading dock for deliveries.
