voting

Gov. Cuomo has set a June 9 date for voting in local school districts, and the polling will be conducted by absentee ballot.

District clerk Carrie Bartoszek said ballots will be mailed to all registered voters in the district. If you are not a registered voter with your county Board of Elections, please contact her at cbartoszek@pioneercsd.org for a ballot to be mailed to you.

As for a list of Board of Education candidates, that will be released following the May 11 nominating deadline.

Mrs. Bartoszek said the situation is subject to change, and more information will be made available once the governor gathers feedback from school districts.

The ballot will contain not only the board candidates but also the school budget and three other propositions.

A qualified voter must be 18 years of age, must be a resident of the District and have lived in the District for 30 days prior to vote.
