Welcome to our school!
Pioneer Elementary School at Arcade offers a variety of learning environments including traditional graded classrooms, multi-age/multi-level classrooms and looping classrooms.
Arcade Elementary also features a high level of inclusion for students with special needs. By providing opportunities to learn in traditional classroom settings, students with disabilities build friendships with other students and participate in an enriched learning environment. Individualized education plans are made for each student and facilitated by specially trained teacher aids, the classroom teacher and classmates.
Teachers, administrators, and community members participate in Shared Decision Making to support and nurture new ideas. Our Cultural Focus curriculum is now entering its 20th year of a five-year rotation allowing students to experience the world's cultures including: Africa, Asia, North America, South America and European countries.
Arcade Elementary School features a technology enriched learning environment with computer work stations in every classroom. As one of a select group of schools statewide to be awarded the IBM/SED Technology Grant, Arcade Elementary has had a rich tradition of integrating technology into every classroom.
New opportunities continue to open as this year each classroom will have video projection capabilities. Virtual field trips will continue in each classroom with our mobile video conferencing technologies.
