Third and fourth graders start right in with learning about particular artists and then doing a project based on that artist's work.
Third graders are expected to start using more of their ideas in beginning to develop their style of art work. They are expected to work more independently, be responsible for getting their work done on time, cleaning up with their group, and be able to write about at least one of their art peices. There are likely to be quizzes on artists that we study.
We will begin the year with a little bit of review, and then begin our first project. We will study Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Rene Magritte, Paul Klee, and Vincent Van Gogh, to name a few.
Some of the materials we will work with are wire, clay, colored pencils, and watercolor.
