• Ms. Matuszak's Philosophy on Speech and Language:

Confidence has a direct connection to communication. For students to be successful in speech and language therapy they need to think of themselves as successes! The way to get students to think "success" is to recognize all of the good things happening and engage in positive self-talk. Theses practices set students up for success and provide excellent opportunities for learning.

Evidence-based practice is the key to helping students with communication disorders. Reseach is essential to support a method or communication strategy. Research guides therapy programs to determine the best approaches to meet student needs.

Differentiated instruction and multiple paths to learing are essential. What works for one student may not work for another. Therefore, it is essential to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs using different strategies and approaches to get there.
