• Overview of the Character Anchor Movie Project

"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built."

The eighth grade teachers have created a character education program to reinforce the 6 anchors: Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Fairness, Trustworthiness, and Citizenship.

Based on a wide variety of film choices, students will be able to select films that are of interest to them at various times during the school year.

These film choices will be related to the monthly character anchors that we address throughout the school building.

As the students are viewing their selected films, they will be responsible for completing a Character Anchor Movie Reflection Worksheet.

The worksheet is designed in order for the students to identify and reflect on the character anchors as they relate to the specific film.  The worksheet will also ask the students to identify ways in which they, themselves, exhibit the same qualities.
